Mara Jasmine Pike has been teaching yoga for the past nine years. In addition to teaching Pregnancy and Mom & Baby yoga at Purple Yoga Hawaii, Mara runs her own studio, Jasmine Yoga, on the North Shore.

Mara moved to Hawaii in 2003 from Somerville, Massachusetts where she was head teacher at O2 Yoga. She has been involved in movement studies, including gymnastics and ballet, for most of her life. She has a BFA in Dance from NYU, taught dance and performed with Ballet New England.

Her first four years of yoga studies – in Vinyasa and Ashtanga – were with Mimi Loureiro. She has also completed a one-year Shadow Yoga teacher training with Glen Butcher, as well as training in Pregnancy and Mom & Baby yoga with Cathy Louise Broda.

"Mara's yoga class is a great way to end the working week. She teaches with humor, compassion and encouragement. She shows respect and consideration
towards the needs of my pregnant body and growing baby while helping me realize the strength and stamina that I can posess." Alison Uyehara Ngo
